Kathy Brown, Puppy eyes (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
Amazingly i came across this gorgeous young New Zealand fur seal in the most unlikely of places while i was out looking to capture some seabirds. I was walking around the rocks of Muttonbird Island in Coffs Harbour where it is quite rare to see a seal when i came across it drying out on the rocks. At first i thought it was a large bird of some sort when it moved suddenly and fast paced into the ocean and then i saw it was a seal. It was just lucky i had my camera with telephoto lens in my backpack as it all happended so fast. As i tried to capture some shots of it swimming in the ocean it came back towards the rocks as if it wanted to have a good look at me and then quickly dissappeared again. I managed to get this one picture of its beautiful curious face checking me out with its puppy dog eyes. Captured at Coffs Harbour, NSW east coast.
