Blair Johnston, Pink Dawn (July theme: Symmetry)

This was one of the most spectacular & peculiar sunrises I've ever witnessed. I woke to see a pink light breaking through my hotel window. I quickly rushed outside onto the balcony with my camera. I'd left my tripod inside but in the moment (also conscious that I could miss its peak) I precariously rested my camera on the balconies edge and took this shot. The sunrise gave the building an ominous pink glow and the blue lights from the stairwell provided contrast to the scene.
