Neil Hummerston, Nelson (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

I live and work in a remote indigenous community. As part of the holiday activity I took some photo equpment to the recreation hall to do portraits with the local children. It was hectic children running around, all excited all wanting to look in the camera and play with the flashes. Adding to the atmosphere some of the children found a smoke machine and set it running. Nelson is well known in the community and was keen to take part. Now I just had to get him to sit still. After going through the obligitory pulling faces and gangstar looks I managed to snap this photo, which truely shows his character.
