Simon Ladd, Mouse in House (ENTRIES CLOSED - June theme: Home)
I love capturing presence, especially of people who are comfortable in their own skin. Monica Corduff (pictured) exudes natural warmth, raising two children while making a living performing a character of her own invention: Monski Mouse. “Monski” started as a nickname in 1991. The Mouse made her first professional appearance soon after in 1992 at the Adelaide Fringe. Some 30 years later, this portrait captures Monica dressed as Monski looking out from home, with so much to reflect on.
