Rosemary Oldis, Morning Encounter (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)

The atmospheric fog and early sunlight drew me out with my camera. I was framing my first shot and about to press the shutter when a magpie flew into the frame. Delighted, I couldn't believe my luck when it joined me, pecking for worms and carolling the new day before turning to stare at me as if to say goodbye.
