Matt Fieldes, Montgomery Reef (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

At around 400 square kilometres in size, Montgomery Reef is Australia’s largest inshore reef and brimming with wildlife above and below the surface! What makes this place more incredible is that on a dropping tide these whitewater rapids and waterfalls are created as the reef appears to emerge from the ocean! I was lucky enough to capture this image right on sunrise and watch that amazing golden light flood over the reef.
