Asher Lee, Meditation (OCEAN - Entries close 30 November 2026)

Captured along the coastal foreshore at twilight, this image utilizes the dramatic architecture of a pedestrian bridge to frame a solitary figure against the horizon. Shot on a Sony A7 (Mark I) paired with a Sony Zeiss FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA lens at 35mm, the exposure was exposed at ISO 100 and f/3.2. Originally captured as a vertical portrait, the frame was re-cropped into a landscape orientation during post-processing in software. This crop refines the composition, anchoring the lower walkway railing in the corner to create a dynamic diagonal leading line that draws the viewer's eye straight toward the subject and up into the sweeping steel arch. Converting the photo to black and white isolates structural shapes, deepens shadows, and emphasizes the silhouette against the evening sky.
