Peter Ogden, Lost amidst the smoke (LANDSCAPE 2020)
As the bushfires of Australia’s summer from hell encroached on Sydney from every direction, the city was wreathed in thick smoke. On several mornings I ventured (slowly) out into our nearby national parks on the northern outskirts of the city. The smoke hung thickly to everything, even the water…and I was captivated by the juxtaposition of the man-made objects embedded in nature and the very visible effects of climate change surrounding them.
