Peta Buckley, Looking Beyond the Falls (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

I usually travel internationally every year, however with Covid restrictions I decided to explore our back yard, by travelling to Tasmania to explore the wilderness everyone often raves about. I explored the National Parks and wilderness almost every day, with my eyes filled with so much joy each day, discovering and experiencing a new haven I hadn’t ever seen before. When I came across Russell Falls, I was surprised how magical it felt, with the water cascading gently over the eroded rock. After sitting admiring the atmosphere for some time, I noticed the small ferns and plant life on the rockface under the cascading water. So I decided to focus on the vegetation that rather than the overall waterfall setting, as we often do with waterfalls, and hopefully captured the intimate yet vast ecosystem within the waterfall environment.
