Sonia Smith, Lone Tree in Somerset Region (May theme: The night sky)
Driving home one evening near Lake Somerset recently I saw a beautiful sunset. This photograph was purposely taken during blue hour so the galactic centre visibility of the Milky Way was subtle. And then there was some light pollution from Brisbane coming over the horizon just behind this tree which gave it a nice silhouette. I had a speed light with me which I was using just to give the grassy fields a little bit of light. In hindsight I probably would of turned it down a bit as it looks harsh but the whole thing about photography is having fun and experimenting with light.
