Harrison Taylor, Life to Death (ENTRIES CLOSED - July theme: Colour)

You wouldn’t know it, but the original image I took was a bright green landscape on a sunny day. By deliberately mirroring the landscape vertically, it gives this real ceiling effect as if you’re under an infinitely huge room, which I feel actually amplifies the vastness compared to without it. I completely stripped the vibrant greens and blues for this deep sepia to make the landscape feel physically dead and hot. When I look at this image, I couldnt imagine any life surviving out there, in fact it doesn’t even feel like earth. Perhaps it’s my colourblindness, but I love to see how far I can take an image that was once easy to look at and understand into something from another world. This piece is absolutely an example of that.
