SANTOSH MITRA, JEWEL (CREATIVE 2020)
Early hours of 28 July 2018 were quite significant. A few dozen photographers and journalists had braved the cold winter night and gathered on a tiny stretch of sandy beach in northern Sydney to capture the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century - a Blood Moon Eclipse with totality lasting for more than an hour and 40 minutes. As I stood amongst them witnessing one of the most awe inspiring phenomenon on earth, I envisioned an image which could truly showcase this unique sequence of events on one of our most loved icons. This is an artistic impression of that vision! - Athol Beach, NSW
