Mark Kriedemann, Jaunty Juvenile Jacana (ENTRIES CLOSED - February theme: Wild)
Juvenile Jacana lands on the edge of the waters at Enoggera Resovoir, which provide a stable surface comprised of a thick layer of lillypads. The Jacana rapidly beats it's wings to shed water while wasting no time in beginning it's search for food. I crouched in the reeds about 20m (perhaps more) from where the Jacana landed. Knowing that this species usually spooks quite easily, I rattled off some early shots, including this one, to ensure I captured my first Juvenile Jacana.
