Stavros Messinis, Iland XII (Creative 2021)

Iland XII is a photographic project which seeks to explore the relationship between photography and poetry, and the role of photopoetry in contemporary photography, by exploring the concept of homeland. This project is inspired by two monumental poems: Greek poet, Constantine P. Cavafy’s "Ithaka" and Homer’s epic "Odyssey". Conceptually I am connecting Iland to my homeland as an artist, the home in which I always return to express myself.
