Robert Zappia, Iceberg Observations (LANDSCAPE 2020)

The Tasman Glacier lake is an especially inspiring location when the glacier has a calving. I visited Mt Cook area in early August last year and it was the best that I've seen on my many visits to the location over a 10 year period. The icebergs were prolific, large and they were a lot cleaner (less dirt & gravel) than in previous years. When you consider that the top of Aoraki-Mt Cook is 3000 vertical metres above the lake, it is a truly picturesque and awe-inspiring sight when it makes its appearance through the clouds.
