Laura Walker, I see blue (People 2021)

In this portrait series, we see our young subject staring directly at the viewer, almost completely covered by a variety of different fabrics. His serious gaze is in contrast to the somewhat playful nature of a child wrapping oneself in fabric. The various silky or drapey fabrics in soft, blue tones are reminiscent of water, flowing down a river or foaming in the ocean. Appearing to almost 'sink' into the fabric, which flows around him, the subject is enveloped with only one of his vivid blue eyes remaining untouched by the fabric.
