The Pilbara of Western Australia in the middle of summer is hardly the place to be tenting it when your free-standing tent is plonked in the middle of an age-old granite rock bed. The heat absorption from the previous day made for an uncomfortable and sweaty night with no breeze and plenty of midges for company. However, the sunrise that followed made up for it somewhat.
