Georgina Ode, Hope (June theme: Night light)

The foster care system, whilst protecting many, is highly flawed. My photograph features light, something pure, as the children of this system. The stark contrast between the innocent children at the mercy of the system and that which surrounds them. The evil which allows them no control over their own safety. The love which many of the children are deprived of. That is what corrupts their light. Leaving only darkness in its wake. Only the lucky and strong can be allowed to shine. Everyone else is lost, because no one can see in the dark. An issue cannot plague your conscience if you are not conscious of it.
