Kate Ferguson, High altitude sunset (LANDSCAPE 2023)

After a day's walking in the Kanchenjunga Conservation area, we were treated to one of those jaw-dropping sunsets high up in the clouds. The sun dipped below the horizon and we stood in awe at Selele(4,500m) our camp for the night. This moment marked the culmination of the day's journey, trekking from the village of Ghunsa (3,430m), in the eastern Himalayas. As the sun continued its descent, time seemed to slow, and for a brief moment, the fatigue of the day's climb melted away.
