Mark Kriedemann, Hazy Fields (ENTRIES CLOSED - February theme: Wild)

Eastern Grey Kangaroo Joey momentarily stops squirming its way back into its mother's pouch to glance quickly at my camera. The long dry grass catching light from sunset created a nice soft, and almost empyrean looking foreground and background which gave made the scene feel extremely pure to me. While the innocence of the joey seemed almost cliched at the moment it looked at me, I prompted a deep appreciation for its presence within me. My desire to take a photo at that moment was based simply on that. It was very much an "appreciate the little things" moment.
