Howard Moutrie, Guggenheim Bilbao (LIGHT/SHADOW - Entries close 30 September 2026)

The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao uses light and shadow to emphasise its dramatic form at both the macro and micro level. In this photo I wanted to show the titanium panels, how they reflect light even on an overcast day to emphasis the strong principal form, but then different angles of the tiles provide variations in light and shadow within these forms and then each of these tiles, with their asymetrical surface provides light and shadow at the micro level. The result is a photo which is almost sorreal and reflective of the art inside.
