Hannah Brearley, Golden Hour (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
This photo was taken in an unexpected moment, whilst on holiday. No more than 45 minutes before, I'd been sitting in a pub in Stornoway, Scotland when I overheard two locals discussing the Calanais Standing Stones. Curious, I googled the location of such stones and found they were only 30 minutes drive away. I quickly finished my meal and was thankful I had my camera in my car. The sun was due to set in 50 minutes and the sky was already glowing orange. I reached the stones and quickly set up my camera and couldn't believe my eyes as the red sun slowly dipped towards the horizon before disappearing behind the hills. I can't believe I would've missed such a magical moment, and photo opportunity, if I hadn't overheard a conversation in a pub!
