Karen Regan, Glow in the dark mushrooms (ANIMAL & NATURE 2023)

The Ghost mushroom (omphalotus nidiformis) is a fungus that is known for its bioluminescent properties and usually appear in the Autumn months. At night, the mushroom emits a soft green glow which is the result of a chemical reaction between fungal enzymes and oxygen. It was truly a magical experience to capture these glowing clusters and witness nature's enchanting beauty at night.
