Harman Singh Heer, Ghosts of the African Savannah (Junior 2018)

The four images display a lioness, a herd of wildebeest and two different leopards in motion. Instead of using a fast shutter speed to capture detail, I decided to use a slower shutter to capture movement through panning. Whilst stills are amazing, I wanted to try something different. I wanted to show viewers that on a safari, there is always something happening that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I believe the movement is also symbolic of how busy our everyday lives are in modern society, and how sometimes, we only see things as a blur because we don't have enough time to truly appreciate them.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
