Simone Walton, Fires in The Kimberly's (August theme: Seasons)
Whilst most Australian is known to have the typical Summer, Winter, Autumn and Spring. The top end of Australia experiences the Wet and Dry seasons as we are closer to the equator. In the beginning of our dry season, which would otherwise be Autumn, Our tall, dry grasses that have grown to define the land require annual burn offs in order to regerminate the species that grow in the top end. The fires that burn this time of year is healthy for our Environment in the Top End.
