Fiona Bowring, Fine Times at The Astor (TRAVEL 2023)
When The Astor opened in 1962, I reckon it looked pretty much like it does now. It’s welcomed a lot of travellers of all sorts to regional NSW in more than 60 years since. It had some drab years too, when the Palm Springs colour scheme was just a memory. More recently it’s embraced its pastel past, and The Astor once again promises ‘Fine Times!’ to guests like Jan and Rodney, who just happened–really!–to match the motel’s exterior.
