Karen Calder, Expectant Nemo Parents (November Theme: Family)

The female clownfish lays between 100-1500 eggs every two weeks. The male clownfish will then care for them, swimming around them and waving his fins on them to aerate them. He may also pick off the ones that have died. During this time the babies in their egg sac learn about the underwater world with eyes wide open. The eggs should hatch in about 7 to 10 days when the 3mm baby nemos enter the big wide underwater world full of predators. Good luck little nemos.
