Theresa Lee, Ever Present (CREATIVE 2023)

The inspiration behind this image arose from a desire to artistically connect my mother Diana’s enduring love for my late father through the spiritual element of air. Symbolising the passage of time, I created a monochromatic composite layering together a rephotographed print of my late father taken in 1943, fairy lights from my mother’s own garden and the evergreen Australian Eucalyptus growing in the wetlands Reserve behind my mother’s home. Metaphorically these elements bestow ‘ever presence’. Only the poppy and sunflower remain in colour signifying constant love for my late father.
