Ethan Joseph, Ethan's Candid Photo Diaries (People 2021)
PHOTO 1 : Dawn Swimmer A few moments before the sun rose upon the horizon. I quickly noticed this morning swimmer walking amongst the edge of the rock platforms. This morning swimmer was walking towards me and so with some quick thinking. I got ready for the morning swimmer to walk into my frame. I lay low to the ground to add a foreground element to my photo with a puddle making for a nice looking reflection. A few minutes went by and the moment was already upon me to nail this composition. Snap! my shutter went off on continuous shooting mode. After he had left my frame. I had a look at the photos and was stoked about being able to nail the composition and optimally bring my vision to life. PHOTO 2: Lone Surfer At the local surf spot, I noticed this Lone Surfer watching the waves at golden hour. Waiting for the right time to jump into the water in between the sets. I framed the Lone Surfer on the far right side of my frame with a wave taking up the majority of the left with the morning light hitting it. PHOTO 3 : Worldly Beauty As I arrived at the sunrise spot approximately 30 minutes before Sunrise. I noticed a man walking at the edge of the rockpool. As the sun rose it lit up the sky and honestly left me lost for words. The man that I spoke about earlier started to walk across the back of the pool. Adding a subject element to this photo would improve the composition with the reflection of the man shown in the shot. PHOTO 4: SURF AT MAGIC HOUR As the sun was slowly descending at sunset. The light was hitting a surfer. I noticed quite nicely. I got the camera set up with the correct settings and again got low to the ground as this particular surfer reflection provided for a great composition.
