Matthew Chen, Empty Voyeurism (JUNIOR 2023)

Underneath the silent cover of night, I took this photo to explore the idea of voyeurism. I wanted to capture the ways candescent bulbs seep through windows, leaving what goes on inside the house exposed to the outside. While I took this photo, I heard the chattering of the television and the screaming of boys playing. At the same time, I could not see anything or anyone, but the house stood still and strong: the scene was both tranquil and bustling.
