Jarli Fortune, Domestic Light (ENTRIES CLOSED - June theme: Home)

Created using a DIY handmade camera obscura constructed from a magnifying glass, cardboard (that I spraypainted black both inside & out) and a ton of tape!! this image was captured by scanning the projected image with a portable scanner rather than using a conventional camera. The resulting photograph combines lens less imaging with digital scanning, producing a dreamlike/ethereal interpretation of a cat sitting on a windowsill. Visible elements of the DIY camera obscura remain within the frame, revealing the image-making process and exploring the relationship between light, technology, and observation.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
