Liz Barratt, Darwin Safe Harbour (LANDSCAPE 2020)
Darwin today offers safe harbour for many boats but this was not always the case. Where these photos were taken is off the pier where on February 19th 1942 the Japanese attacked Darwin Harbour using 242 aircraft, killing 236 people, injuring over 300 and sinking 11 vessels. It is now a very peaceful place in the early morning to watch the sunrise. Lest we forget.
