Kade Richardson, Connections to the past (October theme: Connections)

1930, the gravesite of Lucy Ann Beares. She brought the first family of setters to South Australia on the ‘Duke of York’ which arrived on Kangaroo Island in 1836. She died in childbirth the following year and is the first woman settler buried on the island. In 2019 her grave remains unchanged by time and is connected to the land itself.
