Lawrence Chan, Birranga , The Rainbow Bee Eater (ANIMAL & NATURE 2022)

One of the most beautiful birds in Australia, the rainbow bee eaters known to the Noongar people as " Birranga" . According to the First Nation dreamtime story, it comes into being when a rainbow shattered and its colourful shards fell to earth. I have long admired its beauty, colour and its lightning actions. Through various lights and settings, I have attempted to express the bird at an intimate level.
