Adrienne Lee, Birds of a Feather (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
In the dark of a sweltering hot summers night on the evening of January 4 2020 the quaint townships of Bundanoon and Wingello situated in Southern Highlands of NSW were ablaze having felt the wroth of the worst bushfires ever seen in the region. The adjoining picturesque Moreton National Park (a little under 200,000 hectares) is steeped in Aboriginal history and is home to an abundance of native flora and wildlife. Due to its vast acreage much of the Moreton National Park was spared from the worst of the fires, however the northern access via Bundanoon sadly was quite severely affected. Nearly 3 years after the fires, I recently enjoyed a walk to view the popular Ecco Point escarpment and was delighted to see this Glossy Black Cockatoo returning to its natural habitat enjoying an early breakfast.
