Steve Barnes, Bee-Eater Standoff (ANIMAL & NATURE 2024)

A couple of male Rainbow Bee-Eaters captured during a territorial dispute over a favourite bee-hunting perch. I thought t first this was a feeding-mating display but then realised (from the tail streamers) they were both males. This was a remarkably lucky capture after a couple of hours watching this particular favourite branch. Lake Gwelup Reseve, Perth.
