Jarrah King, Beauty of a bee (Wildlife and Animal 2019)

I was walking around my street on a warm summers evening and I sat down beside some lavender. I could hear the busy sounds of bees buzzing around hard at work collecting pollen. I was absolutely captivated and could have sat there for hours. I was completely amazed at how this one bee hung off the lavender and used its back legs to collect the pollen. It was around this time that we had fires burning rapidly across Tasmania. The fires destroyed hundreds of Leatherwood Trees therefore Tasmania's Honey Industry is in crisis and our poor bees are starving. I posted these images on my photography page in hopes that people would consider planting a tree or a flower to help save a bee. Our bees are so precious and I hope my photo series highlight their beauty, vulnerability and importance to our ecosystem.
