Luke Cooper, Aussie Homeowners (Australia - Entries close 30 January 2027)

A pair of sulphur-crested cockatoos emerge from their hollow in a eucalypt trunk after working inside on their nest, their normally white plumage stained brown from the job. With both crests raised, they looked every bit like a pair of proud Aussie homeowners inspecting the results of their renovations. Photographed handheld near Yarrawonga, Victoria, with a Canon R7 and Canon EF 70–200mm f/2.8 at 1/2000 sec, f/2.8. Processing was limited to adjustments primarily to exposure, whitebalance, colour, contrast and cropping.
