Ann Parrott, As The Fog Lifts (ENTRIES CLOSED - SOFT LIGHT)

Taken on a misty day and in reality, visibility was far lower than the image suggests, with the trees appearing and disappearing as the fog drifted. What caught my eye was the gradual emergence of the forest. The row of trees seemed to materialise from nowhere. To preserve the atmosphere, editing was kept to a minimum. A small increase in vibrance helped bring out the subtle colours that were present but easily lost in the fog. I also removed a few power lines that distracted from the natural beauty of the scene. Shooting at f/8 allowed me to achieve the depth and sharpness I wanted while maintaining the soft, ethereal mood. For me, this image captures that fleeting mysterious moment, as the fog begins to surrender the landscape hidden within. Canon EOS R8. Lens: RF24-50mm | f/8 | 1/800 sec | ISO 400 | focal length 75mm
