Fiona Pennisi-Mitchell, Across Traversed Distance (SOFT LIGHT - Entries close 31 May 2026)

Across Traversed Distance was captured on an iPhone 16 Pro and edited with basic sliders in Microsoft Photos on a PC. I aim to show that creativity can be expressed even without access to the high-end technologies often associated with modern photography – art can be created regardless. This image portrays a quiet moment along a tidal shoreline under softly diffused light. A thin veil of cloud filters the sun, softening the textures of sand, stone and sea. It explores how soft light can transform a coastal scene. The various tracks leading into the distance guide the eye, echoing the transient relationship between people and place.
