Ian Sale, A Shy Albatross faces a crisis (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

This shot was taken from a boat off Eaglehawk Neck (Tasmania). The Shy Albatross was untroubled by our presence but left hurriedly when a large mob of Short-tailed Shearwaters disturbed his peace. This was taken with a Pentax K-1, fitted with a 70-200 zoom; shot at 100mm, F 7.1, 1/3200; converted to B&W in part because there was little colour anyway on this chilly morning. B&W added to the ominous tone of the image which reminded me of the Hitchcock classic The Birds
