Heather Smith , A Lone Surfer (ENTRIES CLOSED - December theme: Your favourite shot of '25)

Overlooking Bells Beach at the practice day for the Bells Beach Pro Surfing competition, I was snapping some travel shots of our group when this young surfer politely waited for us to finish before descending the steps way down to the beach below. When I looked down, this was what I saw. No camera other than my phone on hand, I quickly lined this photo up and captured it... it was such a stark image, those footprints really stood out the pathway between surf and sand.
