Taylor Casauria, A Living Fossil (March Theme: Leading Lines)
The Wollemi pine (Wollemia nobilis), this individual was photographed at the Rhododendron gardens, located Olinda, Victoria. The Wollemi pine is a 200 million year old plant species, which disappeared in fossil records approximately 2 million years ago. It was rediscovered 150 km west of Sydney in a secluded canyon in 1994 by David Noble.
