This is the traditional cutting of the New Years cake. In Greek Orthodox transition this cake is baked and eaten on New Year's Day. A coin is baked into the cake and the lucky person who ends up with the piece of cake containing the coin is said to be lucky for the rest of the year. Here grandma is cutting the cake with all 5 of her grandchildren.
