Winning images from the ninth annual International Mobile Photography Awards
The international Mobile Photography Awards have announced the winners of the ninth edition of the annual smartphone photography competition.

Started in 2011, the Mobile Photography Awards are the longest running international competition for photos shot and edited exclusively on mobile phone/tablet devices.
In 2020, the grand prize has been awarded to Daniel Heilig, a musician, interior designer & fine art photographer from Germany. Daniel receives a cash prize of $3,000USD.

MPA Jury Member Sheldon Serkin, a New York based photographer & educator says about Heilig’s work, “... his minimalist, seemingly objective approach to his subjects reveals a unique sensibility that works to open up interpretive paths, jump-starting our curiosity and inviting us to look deeper and see in new ways.”

More than 5,500 photos from more than 60 countries were entered in the competition.
“The 9th Annual Mobile Photography Awards is testament to another year in the rapid evolution of mobile phone cameras, both technologically and artistically,” says MPA founder Daniel Berman, a photographer and filmmaker based near Toronto, Canada.

He adds, “...the iPhone is still the most widely used by our entrants but this year we’ve seen a wide variety of camera phones used for our winning photos.'
