Since its inception in 1979, the W. Eugene Smith Fund has awarded over $1 million to documentary photographers around the world.

As part of the fund's first sale, prints from 58 internationally renowned photographers including Stephanie Sinclair, Ami Vitale, Nanna Heitman, Bharat Choudhary, and Robin Hammond will be available for purchase at the Smith Fund 2020 Print Sale website.

Included with the print collection is Eugene Smith’s famous “Pride Street” photograph, which was donated by Kevin Smith on behalf of W. Eugene Smith’s estate.

All prints are unsigned, open editions produced as 11x14-inch archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle paper and priced at $150.00 each. Prints will ship in late December from New York and include a certificate of authenticity.

“We are excited and deeply grateful to present our first ever, online print sale thanks to past Smith Fund grant recipients and finalists,” said Phil Block, president of the W. Eugene Smith Fund.

In 2020 the Fund presented five documentary photographers each with $10,000 grants. Sales from the print sale will help fund grants and fellowships in 2021 and beyond.

The sale runs until December 14. You can see all the prints in the sale here.
