Thirteen photography finalists have been named in the 2013 Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards 365 (SOYA 365).

SOYA365 is a creative melting pot spanning 11 key creative disciplines including photography, interactive gaming, music, writing, film making, architecture and more.

The eventual winner in each category will receive an open voucher for $5000 worth of air travel, a further $5,000 in cash and the opportunity to be mentored by a recognised leader in the field.

Polly Borland, an Australian-born portrait photographer based in the UK will mentor the winner of the photography category.

Borland shoots for numerous UK and US publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Independent and Dazed and Confused. The National Portrait Gallery in London, and in Canberra, have acquired a number of Borland’s photographs for their collections.
The photography winner will be selected by Polly Borland and announced the week commencing 4 March 2013.
