The Australian Centre for Photography will feature a retrospective of photojournalist David Burnett's work documenting US Presidents since JFK.

By Armani Nimerawi

The work of American photojournalist David Burnett, one of the very few photographers to have photographed all US Presidents since JFK, will be featured in an exhibition titled 'The Presidents: From JFK to Obama', as part of the 2013 Reportage Festival in Sydney.

The exhibition, hosted by the Australian Centre for Photography, features candid images of current and former US Presidents, including John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

A highly awarded photojournalist, Burnett was awarded the Robert Capa Gold Medal in 1973 and has won World Press Photo awards twice, in 1973 and 2005. Born in Salt Lake City, USA, Burnett has worked in over 80 countries as a photojournalist and has shot for some of the world's most prestigious titles, including Time and Life magazine. In 1976, Burnett co-founded Contact Press Images with Robert Pledge.

The free exhibition will be on display at the Australian Centre for Photography in Paddington, Sydney, from June 1 to August 18.
