The PinkLady Food Photographer of the Year has announced its global winners for 2023, with a number of Australian photographers recognised in the awards that celebrate the best of food photography and film.
The Candy Man by UK photographer Jon Enoch won the overall prize for 2023.
Enoch’s photograph, taken in the streets of western Mumbai, captures one of the city’s many candy-floss sellers who use unique ways to display their candy goods in the hope of attracting a buyer.
“I’m ecstatic to receive this award, it’s a real honor to get this recognition in such a prestigious competition laden with wonderful imagery,” said Enoch.
Closer to home, a monochromatic shot ‘Mushrooms in Seville Market’ by Australian photographer Susan Astor-Smith won the Hotel Art Group Cream of the Crop category.
Rounding out the Australian finalists were photographer Emma Sheldrake, who had two finalist images, and food stylist Elisa De Cecchi, who won third place in the Food Stylist category.
