Photographers of all ages are invited to take to the streets on Saturday 13 October and snap their way around the city as part of the Foto Riesel Foto Rally.

The Foto Rally is now in its third year and forms part of the City of Sydney's annual Art and About Sydney Festival.

Foto Riesel’s Foto Rally is a one-day photography event in which participants are encouraged to explore their creativity and photographic skill. Entrants complete a series of photographic challenges which are unknown to them until the Rally commences. A prize pool of $2,000 is up for grabs and judging is based on photographic and artistic merit.

"While the Foto Rally attracts hundreds of budding and professional photographers, one of the greatest things is that we get all walks of life participating," said Foto Riesel’s managing director, John Wallace. "There are really no barriers and we even get entire families who are into photography taking part."

Photographers must register online at www.fotoriesel.net.au/foto-rally where they can choose a starting time to collect their photographic challenge. Each entrant receives the same set of challenges and needs to set out to undertake the challenges on that day. They then have until 11.59pm on Friday 19th October to upload their images to the online gallery via the Foto Riesel web page.

"You don’t need to be a professional photographer at all," said Wallace. "You just need an interest in photography and be willing to undertake the assigned challenges on the day."
